Product Description
Industrial Oil Water Separator Dissolved Air Flotation for Grease Removal

This Industrial Oil Water Separator utilizing Dissolved Air Flotation technology is purpose-designed for high-concentration oil and grease removal from industrial process wastewater. The system accommodates influent oil concentrations reaching 3,000 mg/L, separating free-floating, dispersed, and mechanically emulsified oil fractions through a synergistic combination of chemical emulsion breaking and microbubble flotation.

In the pre-treatment stage, a dedicated pH adjustment and demulsifier dosing zone destabilizes oil-in-water emulsions by neutralizing surface charges and reducing interfacial tension. The conditioned wastewater then enters the flotation cell where a dense white-water curtain of 20-40 micron bubbles sweeps upward through the liquid column. Hydrophobic oil droplets preferentially attach to the air-water interface of each bubble, forming buoyant agglomerates that rise rapidly to form a thick, contiguous oil-rich float layer.

A variable-speed rotating drum skimmer with oleophilic surface coating selectively harvests the floating oil phase while minimizing water carryover into the recovered oil collection tank. The result is a clarified effluent with residual oil content below 10 mg/L, suitable for direct discharge to municipal sewers or further polishing by downstream membrane systems.

Key Features
  • High Oil Loading Tolerance: Engineered to handle influent oil concentrations up to 3,000 mg/L including free oil, mechanically emulsified oil, and chemically stabilized emulsions from industrial cleaning operations.
  • Integrated Demulsification System: Built-in pH correction chamber with automated acid or caustic dosing capability destabilizes oil-water emulsions by adjusting zeta potential before flotation treatment.
  • Oleophilic Drum Skimmer: Rotating drum assembly with specialized hydrophobic surface coating attracts and lifts the oil-rich float layer while rejecting water, achieving recovered oil purity exceeding 90%.
  • Counter-Current Contact Zone: The dissolved air release manifold is positioned to create upward bubble flow opposing the downward water movement, maximizing bubble-oil droplet collision frequency and attachment probability.
  • Heated Sludge Hopper Option: Optional electric or steam heating elements in the collection hopper maintain recovered oil fluidity in cold weather conditions, preventing solidification that would impede gravity discharge.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Wetted Components: All surfaces in contact with acidic or saline process water are protected by multi-layer epoxy coating or fabricated from SS316L material for extended service life.
  • Oil-in-Water Analyzer Integration: Compatible with online oil content analyzers providing real-time effluent monitoring with automatic alarm and chemical dosing feedback control.

Applications

The oil-water separation DAF system is the definitive solution for industries where oil contamination represents the primary wastewater treatment challenge.

  • Petroleum refineries employ these units for desalter effluent treatment, tank bottom water processing, and API separator effluent polishing to meet stringent hydrocarbon discharge limits.
  • Metal machining and parts manufacturing facilities operating CNC lathes, milling centers, and stamping presses generate large volumes of soluble oil and semi-synthetic coolant wastewater requiring reliable oil separation before disposal or recycling.
  • Commercial kitchen and food court grease trap effluent receives primary oil and grease removal through this system, protecting downstream municipal collection infrastructure from fatberg formation.
  • Automotive service centers and fleet maintenance depots treating pressure washer runoff, parts degreaser wastewater, and floor drain effluent achieve environmental compliance without expensive off-site disposal contracts.
  • Marine bilge water treatment applications aboard vessels and at port reception facilities depend on the system to achieve the 15 ppm oil-in-water discharge standard mandated by MARPOL regulations before overboard release.
Packaging & Quality Assurance

Every oil separation DAF unit completes a performance validation trial using synthetic oil-water emulsion to verify removal efficiency against the specified design criteria. The equipment is crated in a reinforced timber case with internal dunnage, desiccant bags, and shock-absorbing corner blocks rated for overseas container transport.

All chemical dosing pumps are drained and flushed before packing, while instrumentation sensors receive protective caps. Documentation deliverables include performance test certificates, material certificates for pressure vessels, complete P&ID schematics, operation and maintenance manual, and a recommended critical spares list with orderable part numbers.

Our 12-month warranty covers all manufacturing defects, with optional extended warranty and preventive maintenance programs that include quarterly remote performance audits, annual on-site inspection visits, and priority access to replacement parts inventory for uninterrupted operational continuity.
